Bradshaw Primary School has seventeen classes and the preschool has three. In addition to classroom teachers, we have a range of specialist teachers, support teachers and classroom support staff to help cater for student’s learning needs.
At our school, we enthusiastically welcome the involvement of parents and extended family members. We strongly believe that the partnership between educators, parents, and caregivers forms the bedrock of our students' success in academics. We actively promote families to take advantage of the abundant opportunities to connect with our school community.
The three learner qualities that Bradshaw learners use to be successful in their learning:
At Bradshaw we believe in the principle of equity, which means that we endeavour to provide students with what they need to succeed. This is often not the same for all students. We have two senior teachers who co-ordinate our student support and special education processes.
Students who have been identified as having learning needs will have personalized education plans created for them. Regular monitoring of their progress will be done in collaboration with their families, senior school staff, student services staff, and the class teacher. Our dedicated student support staff will also be available to help connect families with community organizations and schedule appointments as needed.
In commemoration of this momentous occasion, the school logo has undergone a transformation to embody and honor the vibrant diversity that thrives within our school community today. As we approach the milestone year of 2024, our esteemed institution takes great pride in celebrating 50 years of delivering exceptional education.
Embedded within the newly revamped Bradshaw logo, a symbolic depiction of the Alice Springs Telegraph Station serves as a testament to its historical significance. The Morse code encircling the periphery translates to our school's motto – "Learning is Life." Additionally, former students will be intrigued to learn that a time capsule, containing their own cherished works, was buried in 1977 at the school's entrance. This captivating time capsule is scheduled to be unveiled in 2027.
Bradshaw Primary School derives its name from the esteemed Thomas Bradshaw, who served as the Station and Postmaster at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station from 1899 to 1908. A gifted writer and photographer, Bradshaw meticulously documented life in Alice Springs, where he resided with his wife and children. His daughter, Doris, later authored the book "Alice on the Line," providing a mesmerizing glimpse into their lives at the Telegraph Station.
The Bradshaw logo has five icons which each represent an important aspect of Bradshaw.
Our school song reflects the uniqueness of the location of Bradshaw and captures the essence of our place. A collaboration between students, the school community and a professional musician, the song was produced in 2008 and is proudly sung at our school assemblies.
Listen Below:
We have all come to this one place, With an open heart to this one place
We have come from far, come from here. Bradshaw is our one place.
We are stronger for the caring, and we know that we belong
In the open space, In this timeless place
Our family makes us strong.
Chorus
We are many different people, and together we combine
To create a school of harmony, where everyone can shine.
We are many different stories, and together we embrace
The story of who we are,
In this our meeting place.
This is our meeting place.
And we’re growing through our learning, Ever changing as we grow.
We are proud to wear the blue and gold so that all know we are Bradshaw.
We are the heart, the centre,
With McDonnell Ranges near,
We are so proud, we can sing out loud,
For everyone to hear.
Chorus
When we listen to each other, then we build a better world
The ones who’ve gone before have made us so much more
Bradshaw is our one place.
Bradshaw is our one place.
“The ones who have gone before, have made us so much more.”

Bradshaw School Council serves as the governing body responsible for charting the strategic course of the school and ensuring smooth operations. Comprising elected parent representatives and dedicated staff members, the council's primary objective is to advocate for and advance the best interests of the students.
Elections for representatives are held annually during the February Annual General Meeting. Council meetings convene on the third Monday of each school term, providing a regular platform for discussions and decision-making. Typically, members serve a two-year term, fostering continuity and stability.
Furthermore, the council operates various sub-committees that focus on different areas of interest. It's worth noting that parents interested in contributing to these sub-committees need not be members of the school council.
The School Council undertakes a number of fundraising activities in conjunction with classes. Bunnings BBQ's, Lawn Sales, Popper recycling, Cake Stalls, Raffles and Subway lunch orders are some of the ways the Bradshaw community supports school fundraising.
Subway lunches are available on a Thursday only. The correct money, together with the order form must be placed in a plastic bag/envelope and be at the front office by 8.45am on Thursday morning. Subway collect the orders and return the lunches. Bradshaw school has no role in this transaction.
The Northern Territory Council of Government School Organisations (NT COGSO) represents the interests of the families and school communities of children attending Northern Territory public schools.
Funded by the NT Government, NT COGSO is a community-based, not-for-profit association that is governed by a constitution. Its objective is to ensure the interests of government-funded schools are represented at the local school, Northern Territory and Federal government levels.
